The end of the project
After five years, the Heathlands Mission Project has come to an end. Thanks to everyone for your support! The churches are both still alive and well - check out their notice boards for more information.
“Serving the communities of Blakenall Heath, Leamore and Beechdale with the love of Christ and the message of Jesus in word and deed”
The Walsall Heathlands Mission project was a partnership between the local churches (Christ Church and St Chad's), the Diocese of Lichfield and Latimer Minster, which began in early 2017.
It is not a church plant or a new church, but the opportunity to join in what God is doing. The team have a focus on prayer and discipleship to multiply mission and encourage the existing congregations in their walk with Christ. We hope and pray that this new season will help the Church in this area to grow, serve Christ and minister to the community.
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour...”
Isaiah 62: 1-2
20Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head. 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
